Sentimental Interference
New mix, freshly uploaded. Titled 'Sentimental Interference'; often beatless, often noisy, lots of layering to make sure many frequencies are used, made for sensory deprivation purposes. I'm sure this'll fuck minds to the degree I'm hoping it will, although it could have been harsher had I more knowledge of noise/p.e. stuff. Should work well with my DT100s, mwuhahaha. Anyway, enjoy (58:01, 106Mb).

Your mix hasn't DL'ed yet, but this is pretty beatless and quite headfucky.

There's a mix of noisy stuff done by Christian on the Fimbulvetr site: http://www.monkeyhouse-recordings.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?t=64

Not exactly the same, but if you're interested, I've done a bunch of mixes here, I could burn any you're interested in.

i actually listened to that mix to get me in the mood the other night, is fairly short (although i've still to make a mix that would fill out a cd to it's full potential ;) but a nice mix of stuff. cool, shall grab some of yours once i get back from edinburgh next week/year.

I hate DT100's with a passion btw! Have some at work and they suck the life out of everything...I find they really fatiguing to use. They are the headphone equivalent of Yamaha NS10's. They sound so shit if you can make something sound good on them then it'll probably sound good on anything.

I don't think they are particularly good headphones. What they are good at is bocking the outside world out which is probably why they are so used in the broadcast industry, that and the fact they are built like tanks. But they also weigh as much as one too.

hehe, true on that. i bought them years ago when i was needing something for my HND and they looked all shiney and propa, but yeah, they're damn good at isolating one's ears from the outside world which, um, should come in handy here ;)

I think they are 'proper' headphones, but perhaps a case of when something becomes industry standard everyone uses them without really knowing why...which is how work ended up buying some.

I had a mix on my cd player (through Senheiser in-ear phones), sounded good. Played the same mix through the monitors at work (£800 Mackies), sounded good. Played it through the DT's and it sounded dull and lifeless.

Not sure what headphones would be best to get tbh.

Though if you are doing sensory deprivation, I'm sure they will be excellent!
